Virginia Key Landfill Closure and Redevelopment
Solicited to serve as program manager for a team of engineering, construction and related firms, ES Consultants successfully took on this $45 million design/build project.
Biscayne Landing Development
ES Consultants was retained to provide civil, environmental and solid waste consulting, design and permitting services on a 165-acre mixed use development project of the former Munisport Landfill in North Miami. The engineering design work included: Stormwater master planning for the entire 165-acre development; Detailed stormwater design for major phases of the project including lined and un-lined retention areas; Class V drainage wells, and outfalls to on-site lakes and off-site wetland areas; Utilities design and landfill gas mitigation for utilities and buildings.
ES Consultants' staff has also been responsible for the management and technical aspects of the groundwater monitoring and remediation program at the site. As part of this work, extensive groundwater modeling was conducted to evaluate impacts of tidal affects and the fresh water/salt water mixing zone.
As head of the permitting process for this project, we interface with several agencies including the South Florida Water Management District, DERM's Water Control and Pollution Remediation Sections, the FDEP (Solid Waste Closure permitting), and local departments.
